what are xylem and phloem?Explain in simple language?

xylem is the water  conducting tissue . it carries water frm roots to the leaves.
phloem is the food conducting tissue . it carries water from leaves to other parts of the plant.

¤ Xylem :

• it is a water conducting tissue...

• it is unidirectional, i. e. Transportation of water and. Minerals take place in only one Direction (from roots to leaves)

• It transport water and minerals in a vertical manner.

• This tissue mainly consists of trachieds , vessel, Xylem parenchyma and Xylem fibres.


¤ Phloem :

• It helps in transportation of food from leaves to different target organs In a plant..

• It is bidirectional... Which means that material can move in both the directions.

• It mainly consists of sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem fibres, and the phloem parenchyma..
