One Hundred Years of Solitude-I read this when I was in clss 10  and it was my first real exposure to magical realism. It was beautiful and haunting.

The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits-short stories based on actual historical clippings, and I love the author (Emma Donoghue).

in Cold Blood - The atmosphere created by Capote is one of the reasons, he does a brilliant job of conveying the fear and effect that the murders had on the town
