what arrangement were made for the tiger shoot?

Plat form was made by village people and packletide gave Rs.1000 to each person women were not allowed to sing lalabi if that happens tiger would sleep.a goat with loud bleat was tied in the tree which would attract the tiger and come there to eat that.

The tiger shooting was arranged in neighboring village. The villagers had seen an old tiger who used to hunt domestic animals on the outskirts of the local jungle. A platform  was built in a comfortable and conveniently placed tree for Mrs. Packletide and her paid companion Miss Louisa Mebbin. A noisy goat was tethered at the correct distance to attract the tiger.
The tiger chosen for this purpose was weak, diseased tiger who could not hunt wild animals due to old age. Even the villagers were offered a sum of Rs.1000
