copper is a more reactive metal than silver
therefore when copper strip dipped in silver nitrate it turns the solution to copper nitrate.

Answer:When a 'strip of copper metal' is placed in a 'silver nitrate' solution, a greyish white deposit of silver can be seen of the copper strip. EXPLANATION: This happens because 'copper' is more reactive than 'silver' and displaces silver easily to form copper nitrate.
