I think controlling 100% of your greed makes you almost a non human (saint like). You become exalted, almost superior to your fellow humans…
Few achieve that (at an immense cost, but it only appears as cost to us, not them).
However, I think most of us specially those who live in the west and developed countries are more susceptible to letting greed consume us.
Now that I have given a context that you may not achieve 100% greed freedom, you are (I am guessing) at a higher risk of falling a victim to it.
Accept that “you” are your body, intelligence and values, not your expensive wardrobe, cars, property etc.
One thing that helps me is, if I work on my body and get tougher, fitter, stronger, that is a part of me, nothing that I buy will ever parallel that.
2. Look at the people who are less fortunate than you are and try to imagine you in that situation. Imagine you were a helpless child in poverty with all sorts of threats and NO future, your body and everything else is at risk all the time.
3. Look at sick people, most of us are born normal, but the unfortunate ones that aren’t didn't do anything to deserve their suffering. In other words we didn’t make an effort etc. to deserve good health and normal lives.
