What causes a rainbow?

An arch formed in the sky showing the prismatic colours in their order .It is caused by the refraction of rays of light by rain globules.The colour of rain are the same,and in the same order,as in the spectrum

When weather is sunny and if it's raining then rainbow is formed due to the dispersion of white light. (Actually, sun emits white light but not any other light) When white light passes through water droplets dispersion of light is taken place. (Here water droplets act as refractive medium)
