Whether you cry or your eyes are just tearing, the liquid in your eyes is created the same way. They are secreted by tear glands called lachrymal glands which are situated on the inner surface of upper eyelids.Mainly, tears are composed of water, salts, antibodies & lysozymes so they are saline tears nourish & lubricate the surface of the eyes as well as wash away debris.A smooth, balanced tear film(consisting of water, oil& mucus)also allows light to enter the eye in an optimal fashion.
