Tendrils are sensitive to touch. When they come in contact to an object like a twig of another plant or something that could support the plant, the part of tendril in contact to the support does not grow as rapidly as the part that is away and this cause the tendril to coil around the support.

it is because of plant hormone called auxin. when the tendril touches any object , the part touches the object makes the auxin move to the part not touching it and auxin helps in the growth of that part making it coil around the object.
