What causes the ''ghost artifacts" in a transparent GIF, and how do you avoid them?

Due to a limitation of 256 colors in a transparent GIF, a "ghost artifact" may happen and the colors may seem to fall out of place when the graphic image moves. However, this problem can be sorted out.

Select all the frames and then right click and select 'Dispose'. When the frame disposal is set, each frame will disappear before the next one is played out thereby eliminating "ghost artifact' problem.
