▪The sunlight does not get reflected back and get trapped due to which it increases the temperature on the earth.

▪The main reason of trapping of sunlight is CO2 and many other green house gases .

▪CO2 is released by vehicles ,factories ,burning of plastic and many other activities .

The greenhouse effect could be termed as the process through which the harmful UV radiations from the sun get absorbed by the greenhouse gases on the Earth and these radiations do not get reflected in space. These trapped radiations create an insulating blanket over the Earth's surface.

Following are the major causes of the Greenhouse Effect:

  • The action of Deforestation: This results in the formation of a larger amount of greenhouse gases due to the mass depletion of trees that use carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and give out oxygen.
  • The process of burning fossil fuels: When fossil fuels are burnt for transportation, etc, they give out carbon dioxide. This adds to the greenhouse effect.
  • Disposing of Industrial Waste outside the factories in an unattended manner.
