Answer:

If the ovum gets fertilized, the zygote gets implanted. However, if fertilization does not occur, the egg withers away and the thick cell lining of the uterus gets removed and discharges the contents through the birth canal. This process is referred to as menstruation.

Answer:

In Women, the ovary release one egg every  month.

Uterus also prepares itself to recieve one fretilised egg. Uterine linnin becomes thick, spongy and richly supplied with blood. But, if fertilisation has occured this linning is no needed any longer. So, the linning comes out through the vaginal opening as blood and mucus. This cycle takesplace every month roughly and it is called mensturation. it lasts about two to eoght days.
