Positive:

Creation of job opportunities in the country

Access to the best of technology worldwide

Help to curb monopoly practices

A better variety of products at competitive prices to the consumers

Increase in the levels of industrial and economic development of the country

Disadvantages

Dumping of redundant technology/goods

Weeding out of domestic industrial units

Detrimental to the domestic industrial units

Causing undesirable flow of money in certain cases
