The British started many policies which affected the lives of pastoralists

1.)Land under cultivation increased as Britishers wanted to increase the land revenue therefore pastoralists have to face problems as the grazing land decreased.

2.)Under forest act forests were divided among reserved and protected forests because of which the grazing land decreased even more and their movement was restricted

3.) The criminal tribes act stated the pastoralists criminals by birth and so they have to live in separated areas and were always under the eye of Britishers and their movement was severely restricted.

4.) The Britishers increased the grazing tax because of which each and every pastoralist have to pay tax on each and every animal of theirs. Because of this many pastoralist went under debt.
