HELLO THERE!

So, the principle of your reaction is Displacement. When, an active metal is added to a salt solution of a less active metal, then the active metal displaces the inactive metal from the salt solution.

Here, zinc is more reactive than copper. So, when Zinc is added to copper sulphate solution, we get zinc sulphate and copper is precipitated.

Reaction: Zn+ CuSO₄ ----> ZnSO₄ + Cu

Observation: Blue colour of solution changes to white and we get a red precipitate. Copper sulphate is a blue solution and when it changes to zinc sulphate (white), we get a red precipitate of copper metal.
