Determined: A really good philosopher would want to persist in their efforts to find the answers their seek, for the philosopher is a seeker of knowledge and wisdom, and the more they may be determined to discover the answers for their questions, the more productive they can be in philosophising.I've noticed that philosophers (and mathematicians) sometimes downplay the importance of the usual scholarly qualities: hard work; reads well; takes good notes; good writing skills; timely preparation of papers; good outlines/drafts before final draft; seeks feedback on papers; stays active in scholarly community; ability to select and follow through with manageable research projects ... We like to believe that you just have to be born a genius or something. I can't emphasize enough how important the qualities that I listed are. You aren't born a good philosopher. You become a good philosopher. And this can be done from a surprising variety of starting positions.
