Charges against Gulliver by Lilliputians
There were many severe charges that had been leveled against Gulliver by the Lilliputian King and his courtiers. One of courtiers, a well-wisher of Gulliver, had brought along a copy of the charges against him. They are given as under:
1. The first charge against Gulliver was urinating in the royal palace. Gulliver was guilty of urinating in the palace; though he had done it to extinguish the fire in the palace.
2. Gulliver had disobeyed the King’s order to rule Blefuscue on behalf of the King. He had done it saying he could not do the cruel acts against his conscience.
3. Gulliver had been over-polite and kind to ambassadors from Blefuscu when they had come to the King’s court for peace.
4. Gulliver was planning excitedly to go to the court of King of Blefuscu to spend a few days there. The Lilliputian King was angry at him because he had not given him any written license to do so. The Lilliputian King also considered it against the interests of his kingdom.
1. He was charged with breach of the law by urinating in the queen's palace under the excuse of extinguishing the fire. Hence, he was liable to pain and high penalty.
2. Gulliver refused to follow the order of the king to seize the remaining ships of Blefuscu saying that he did not want to destroy liberty and life of innocent people.
3. When certain ambassadors came from Blefucu, they said that Gulliver behaved like a false traitor as he aided and abated them.
4. Gulliver was secretly planning to leave for Blefuscu for which he already has the permission from the emperor of Liliput. After going there he intends to assist the emperor of Blefuscu.
