What chemicals we should use in the activity to prove that CO2 is necessary for Photosynthesis?

we use the chemical KOH potassium hydroxide. we use koh to absorb all the CO2 from the air present inside the bottle so plant leaf cannot get CO2 to do photosynthesis.
