what colour does the litmus paper turn in metals...plz give reason...

as metals are basic in nature and their oxides are also basic in nature so the red litmus paper turn into blue litmus

Chemical reactions other than acid-base can also cause a color change to litmus paper. For instance, chlorine gas turns blue litmus paper white – the litmus dye is bleached, because of presence of hypochlorite ions.
