Kerala and Pondicherry have been observed as two states having the highest sex ratio of more than 1000 females per 1000 males while Delhi has 821 females per 1000 males.

Kerala and Pondicherry have great facilities being offered which reduce the infant mortality at the time of birth and at the time of population ratio.

These states have the highest literacy rates as well.

Due to this, they understand the importance of small families and pros and cons of large families.

Whereas in Delhi being the capital state have a high migration of males in the state for a job.

Their families generally stay outside Delhi or in village areas which call for a high number of males in comparison to females.

In States like Haryana, Bihar and other areas around female feticide are common because people have a desire to have a baby boy in order to run the house and increase the family caste.

This has led to a higher ratio of a male in comparison to female.
