What could happen if birds could not fly but only walk on their feet?

if birds could not fly, then the population of the bird may decrease due to like- dogs just eat birds as well as cats and they could be killed by running vehicle, if they could walk but not fly then the name (bird) doesn't exist on this earth and more.
