Everything happening in this world has its own pros and cons, so do the British Rule in India too. In the next few lines I am going to enumerate some points regarding both the perspectives of British rule in India :
Pros :-
1. The abolition of corrupt and evil social practices like sati, ill treatment of widows.
2. Uniting each and every corner of the subcontinent. ( earlier we were divided in small states which used to fight each other for senseless reasons, its the British's uniform exploitation throughout the country which played a major role in developing the feeling of NATIONALISM )
3. Technological advancement of the country, as in the field of modern manufacturing, science and technology, archaeological discoveries, architecture and modern weapon’s arsenal.
4. Development of modern communication network like railways, telegraph, postal services etc .
5. Connected us to the contemporary world and taught us the latest methodology of governance.
Cons :-
Economic exploitation for 200 years.Bolstering the feeling of communal hatred between Hindus and Muslims that eventually led to the formation of Pakistan.Taking away our priceless Annals and antiquities, namely the KOHINOOR.Regimentation system in the army ( although they abolished the earlier tradition that only allowed Caste Kshatriyas to fight and join the army )
