He gave the idea of Pakistan(a separate homeland for Muslims in North-West of India where they can practice Islam) in his presidential address of All India Muslim League annual meeting held at Allabad in 1930. He revived the spirit of freedom in Muslims of India through his Urdu and Persian poetry.
