The author had asked Shaeb one day why he did not go to a school. He had replied he did not have money; besides there was no school near his house. She had assured him she would admit him to her school when she would open one. However, after a few days when the narrator bumped into him, he asked whether her school was ready, she had no reply. She couldn't explain to him that building school required lots of investment. She feels embarrassed because she has not been able to keep her promise with Saheb.
