At the end of the chapter the following things happened:

the author's grand mother realises that her end was near and stopped talking to family members and started telling her beads of rosary . after sometime she died andthe rosary fell down from her lifeless fingers.when the family members started making arrangements for the funeral and her died body was lying in the verandah the sparrows came as usual , the author's mother threw some bite of bread but they didn't ate it and even they were not chirruping. when family members carried grandma's corpse off, they flew away quitely. this was the silent tribute to the lady by birds....
