what did kabuliwala carry to remember his daughter

Kabuliwala carried the impression of his daughter's hand which was smeared in ink and dabbed unto a dirty piece of paper. Not a photograph. Not a drawing. This touch of his own daughter was always near his heart as he came yearly to Calcutta for selling wares.
