Nicola and jacopo were selfless and hardworking. they worked hard just to earn enough to cure their sister,s ailment. they risked their own life and did all odd jobs just to make sure that their sister lives in comfortable conditions and gets the best of treatment available. they sold fruits, hawked newspapers, shined shoes, ran errands and viewed tourists round the city. in this way they earned enough inspite of that they even didn't, spend money on their clothes neither on good food. they ate black breads and figs. in this way they managed to earn enough money to pay the hospital bills
