Hey here is your answer:
1.He observed that most of the alpha particles passed through the gold foil without getting deflected.
2.Also, some of the alpha particles were deflected by the gold foil by little/small angles.
3.But, surprisingly he saw that one out of every 12000 particles appeared to rebound. That was the nucleus which is positively charged.
hope it helps u...

During Alpha particle scattering experiment, Rutherford made helium ions fall on a thin sheet of gold foil and noted a few observations:-
•Most of the alpha particles pass through the foil without any deflection as most of the space was empty in an atom.
•Some of the alpha particles gets deflected by small angles because those particles passes from near the nucleus.
•Very few alpha particles (only 1 among 10000) bounced back from its path as it was colliding a strong positive charge which is present in the centre of an atom. It is called nucleus.
