That the Siddhartha 's father was came to know that his son will be a saint in future,, but he wanted to made him King as they was...
So,, he bounded Siddhartha in palace , restricted to go him outside and take away him from every sufferings of his citizens...
He promoted the teaching of Siddhartha at home and all activity only in palace....

Siddhartha's dad kept all pain and suffering out of the palace doors and tried to keep his son on the Path of Desire forever by surrounding him with material wealth and pleasure (if you can't see the needy, you can't save them).
