the British Empire plans brought an end to the mughal dynasty as Lord Canning declared that Bahadur Shah Zafar would be the last Mughal ruler in charge of a particular area and his sons and relatives were just be to be considered as integral Prince and could not rule after his death.

  • The name of the Mughal emperor was removed from the coins minted by the Company.
  • Under the rule of Governer general Dalhousie, it was announced that after the death of Bahadur Shah Zafar, his family would be shifted out of Red Fort and be given another place in Delhi to reside in.
  • Also, the Governer General Canning decided that Bahadur Shaf Zafar will be the last Mughal King and none of his descendants would be recognized as kings - they would just be called as princes.

These are some of the measures taken by the Company to bring Mughal dynasty to an end.
