The sculptor was a skilled artisan who made the statue with precision. He made very evident on the face of the king
Though the very purpose of the king to have his statue erected was to immortalize himself and remain in the memory of people for long,
the expression on his face defeated his purpose as his statue shows him as a despot.
The sculptor wants to emphasize that it is one's behavior because of which he is remembered.
If one fails, even as a king, to have good behavior he is not admired and gains dislike of others.

The sculptor wanted to portray the king's arrogance, conceit,
and egoism. He behaved condescendingly with others. He wanted everyone to bow,
fawn, and obey his orders. He made everyone believe if they did not act
according to his will or command, he could have them punished.
