What difference in the properties of common salt and sand would enable you to sepa a mixture of these two substances??????????????

salt dissolves in water and sand settles down as sediments...on decantation sand remain in the beaker and separate from the mixture.
salt dissolved in water can be obtained on heating the solution..as water evaporates leaving salt in the dish.
hence the property of solubility of salt enables us to separate it from a mixture of salt and sand
