Answer:
"The Cherry Tree" is a beautiful poem by Ruskin Bond.
The narrator has planted a cherry seed beneath the soil and forgotten it eventually. But at the end of that May, the plant grows into a five month baby tree. The plant faces many difficulties. It is not watered as the poet never cares to bother. It is eventually ate by goats and cut by scythe. But the tree continues to grow higher and higher.
When the narrator returns from Kashmir, the tree is now six feet high with ripe cherries hanging from its branches.
