What difficulties do jerome and harris face while helping george in making the irish stew ? How is stew finally prepared

All the three friends face a lot of problems while preparing Irish stew. When George and Harris set to peel the potato they realise that it was very tough. They end up peeling the potato in such away that potato is left pea sized. George advises them to scrap the potatoes but they end up creating even a bigger mess. So they decide to add the potatoes as they were. They also add other vegetables like cabbage, peas and other leftovers. Montmorency adds his part into stew by putting a dead rat into it.
