First of all, u need to have a clarity on what to study, and what exams to appear for, to get selected to IIT.

➡️Understand, there are 23 IITs in India, IIT-Bombay is the top placed followed by IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, etc

(each course have different importance at different IITs...For eg, For Computer Science, IIT-BOMBAY is the top. For Mechanical Engineering, IIT-MADRAS is the top)

➡️What exams should one appear to get selected?

First, u need to get minimum 75% in class 12th Board Exams to be eligible to appear for the selection exam.

For selection, there are two exams, one prilimanary and the other is final

The prilimanary exam is called JEE Main.

It is conducted twice a year- January and April.

During 12th, u should appear for these exams...Only the best performance in any of these exams is taken.

Almost 14 lakh students registered for these two exams this year. Out of that only 2 lakh qualifies.

If u get top rank (rank within 50thousand) u will get admission to NIT(National Institute of Technology). It's just below IITs.

If u get rank within 10thousand, u can get a good NIT.

So... these 2 lakh students can appear for the final stage-JEE Advanced. It is conducted on May every year. It is ONE among the most toughest engineering entrance examinations in the WORLD.

In these 2 lakh students, only 10 thousand gets qualified for the exam.

In that if u get a rank with in 1000, u can get a seat in good IITs.

If ur rank is within 100, and if u belongs to General Category, U can get Computer Science in IIT Bombay.

So be in top 100 out of 1400000 students who prepares for this exam.

➡️ Syllabus for JEE Main and JEE Advanced:

It's the same syllabus that u study in 11th and 12th.

Do u know?

JEE Advanced is the higher level of JEE Main

JEE Main is the higher level of ur school syllabus of Class 11 and 12th.

Class 12th is the higher level version of Class 10th

and Class 11th is the higher level version of the class 9th...

So u should be very clear with the basics and advanced level portions...

It's really a very tough job..

But too attainable

Wishing u all the best....

I suggest u to enroll to a good coaching centre..

U can also self study....But following coaching centre is more easy...

U should strictly follow Coaching Centre Notes and Classes.
Practice more higher level problems...
If u need to know the names of some good books to refer, u can just comment below my question.
