In the wild most tadpoles will eat micro plants and algae. Some species are omnivores and eat organic debris from decomposed plants or animals. In captivity they can eat a wide variety of food.
For example baby food, egg yolk, and lettuce.

• When tadpoles become froglets they turn into carnivores, so they begin to rely on insects as their main source of food.
• Once our babies started looking more like frogs and less like tadpoles I began to add a scoop of living mosquito larvae from the surface of our pond into their tank as well as the baby spinach leaves
