here is your answer

Worship in Mahayana tradition takes the form of devotion to Buddha and to Bodhisattvas. Worshippers may sit on the floor barefoot facing an image of Buddha and chanting. They will listen to monks chanting from religious texts, perhaps accompanied by instruments, and take part in prayers

The saffron (for a more appropriate name for the color) robes monk wear dates back centuries. Orange was chosen mainly because of the dye available at the time. The tradition stuck and orange is now the color of choice for Theravada Buddhist followers in Southeast Asia, as opposed to a maroon color for Tibetan monks.

Heya...

See here for your answer...

Buddhism used to worship as to take the ideal of Buddha chanting..

He used to sit on floor barefoot facing Lord Buddha and wearing the saffron colour dress usually referred for monks and do worship of Buddha...

It gave them the inner peace and support to the concentration and this makes them to surrender to Buddha..

Thank you
