What was the ethnic massacre in Kosovo (Albanian prejudice)?
Situation in Kosovo went from bad to worse and finally came to a stage of open rebellion.
Yugoslav and later on Serbian authorities sent the police, army, and special forces to try to quell the unrest.
Some of the terrorist would shoot at the police or army and the next would be retaliation. Usually disproportionate. Whole villages were shelled and Albanian terrorists and civilians were killed in numbers.
Those actions can be considered as war crimes and not as ethnic cleansing.
Serbian armed forces were disproportionaly stronger than terrorists. If the goal was to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and Metohija of Albanians it could have been achieved quite easily (despite the protest from the troops which would have certainly ensued).
