the unit of acceleration is m/s^(-2)..... so, your question is wrong......

I think you mean 5 m/s×s
It means that the velocity of a certain body increases by 5m/s for every second.
Eg. Initial velocity = 12m/s
If acceleration is 5 m/s^2
Then after 2 seconds, velocity = initial velocity + 2× acceleration
= 12 + 2(5) = 22m/s
