The Directory rule was in power in France for four years (1795-99) when it was overthrown by General Napoleon. The Directors were men of mediocre talents and did not hesitate to practice bribery and corruption. They failed to rise to the occasion and could not tackle the problems facing the country.


It was removed from France because there always a clash happens between Legislature and Directory
