ferromagnetic materials are highly magnetised and have a large and positive value of magnetic susceptibility
these are used to make permanent magnets

Ferro indicates FERRUM which is IRON in Latin.

Magnetic indicates its MAGNETIC property.

Thus we can say that ferromagnetic substances are substances which are iron based and are attracted by magnets and also can be magnetised to make themselves a magnet.
