Osmosis is the movement of water from a region of lower solute concentration to that of higher solute concentration across a semipermeable membrane(SPM). OR in simple words it is diffusion of water through a SPM.And this diffusion of water molecules continues to occur across the membrane until an equilibrium is reached .At equilibrium the water potential on both the sides of membrane is equal. The potential energy of water is known as water potential.

Transpiration is the loss of water vapour through the suface of the leaf .

Osmosis - Its the movement of a solvent across a semipermeable membrane towards a high concentration of solute . In biological system , the solvent is typically water , but osmosis can occur in other liquids , supercritical liquids , and even gases .
Transpiration - It is the loss of water from the aerial parts of the plant in the form of water vapour . There are 3 types :
1)Stomatal Transpiration - happens through stomata
2)Cuticular Transpiration - happens through cuticle
3)Lenticular Transpiration - happens through lenticel
