Osmosis is a process in Biology in which semi permeable membrane is required for a molecule of a  solvent to pass from less concentrated solution to high concentrated solution. This is a spontaneous process which depends on the concentration  gradient of a solution. In this process the membrane is very important as it has to be semipermeable. Osmosis is an event occurring in daily life , like   soaking up of water by our skin and becoming wrinkled. Another example is shrinkage of resins after immersing in saturated salt solution due to the osmosis  of water from resin to sugar solution.
