Consumer International is basically a World federation comprising of consumer groups serving as the Global voice and forum for venting consumer concerns. It is based in England , and was established in 1960 and is considered to be a watchdog safeguarding rights of consumers.

It has more than 200 organisations affiliated with it. It aims ate generating and creating awareness among the consumers.

Consumer international seeks to hold business organisation, corporations responsible and accountable for their acts. It upheld basic consumer rights to safety, to be heard, informed,to redressal.

Consumer International has launched many campaigns, issues and projects which aims at empowering consumers.

Some of the issues which Communist international is taking up are related to junk food marketing, corporate social responsibility etc.
