Fuse is the weakest link in an electric circuit, which melts when the circuit gets over loaded or short circuited.

When the circuit gets overloaded, more current flows through the fuse wire, which in turn melts it. This cuts off current in the given circuit and hence, it is protected from any damage, such as electric fire.

A fuse is a device which is used to protect short circuit . a fuse must has a low melting point . it is fitted in a electric circuit. if the temperature of the circuit increase the fuse will melt and break the circuit . thus short circuit will be prevented .
