Therefore, the constitution has three main list they are,

Union list
This list contains the subjects which are important foe the entire country.They have been added in the list because the country should have a uniform policy.The subjects in this list include , Defense, Currency , Foreign matters .The central government is only allowed to make laws on the subjects mentioned on it.
State list
This list contains subjects which have local importance. The state government is only allowed to make laws on it.These subject include, Police, communications, agriculture, animal husbandry etc.
Concurrent list
