In most mythologies, legends, books and movies vampires are basically restricted to a "liquid diet" and cannot consume solid foods.There are, in some books and movies, exceptions to this general "rule", and those vampires can, and do, consume solid food, but that is generally rather rare, and not a "traditional" attribute for the "undead".
