the backlash error occurs while using a screw gauge .

Sometimes due to rough usage of the screw gauge , the screw gauge readily doesnt move back when we rotate the screw .

So in order to do that , we do not suddenly rotate it back . We first rotate it in the forward direction for a little while , pause for a bit and then rotate it backwards .

This error is called backlash error .

It occurs in the screw guage wen we try to roatae a score in a very fast motion to measure a reading then there is some slipping between the different screws instead of the rotation, which gives an incorrect reading, to avoid this we should rotate  the screw slowly in only one direction.
