What do we mean by chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is the green pigment in the leaf surface which absorbs sunlight and uses its energy to synthesize carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water which is very important for photosynthesis.

The pigments found in chloroplast (in a leaf) are known as chlorophyll. These pigments help to trap sun light and other resources which help in photosynthesis.
There are 2 types of chlorophyll pigments. Usually called chlorophyll pigment A and chlorophyll pigment B
