⭐Exodermis is exactly the hypodermis with casparian bands. The exodermis in roots acts as a barrier for the radial flow of water along with solutes. It offers overall resistance. Casparian bands and suberin formed in the exodermis , reduce the permeability to water.

⭐Cutin is fatty substance formed as a layer deposited on the walls of epidermal cells. It forms a water proofing layer to reduce the loss of water, carbon dioxide and oxygen.

The exact difference between the two is that exodermis is made up of cells whereas cutin is a layer or thin coating.
