it is an undulating sandy desert which receives less than 150mm of rain in a year. Vegetation is sparse and consists of cacti, shrubs and Thorny bushes. Luni is the only large river in the region.

location- 1. it is located on north western portion of india and east portion of pakistan.
2. the indian state of rajasthan and gujarat and the pakistani state of sindh and punjab come in this region.
climate- 1. it is arid throughout the desert.
vegetation and wildlife- 1. the entire desert is covered with kejri, palm and date tree.
2. we can find chital deer, Nilgai, gazelle, great indian bustard and black buck in this region.
people- 1. mostly people are nomads and live from place to place. often they earn livelihood from selling the products of animals, like the milk, meat and hides of camel, etc. they also earn their livelihood in the extraction of mica, uranium, gypsum and other precious and semi precious stones and metals. they wear cotton robes.
